I recently had the chance to stay at the Park Central in downtown San Francisco. It was the perfect jumping off point to explore SF. If you’re looking for where to stay in downtown SF, the Park Central San Francisco is walking distance from SF MoMA, Union Square, the Embarcadero and the Financial District. But my favorite thing about the Park Central San Francisco? The unbelievable city views from my room.

Check In + Check Out

Check in and check out were both a breeze. I’m a New Yorker so, to be honest, I can be pretty impatient. But the staff at the Park Central San Francisco were both friendly and efficient. After a long flight from NYC to SFO, I really appreciated that!

The Location

The Park Central San Francisco is located in downtown San Francisco. If you’re trying to decide where to stay in downtown SF, the Park Central San Francisco is an easy walk walk from popular attractions like SF MoMa, the Museum of Ice Cream, Union Square, Chinatown and the Embarcadero. It’s also a quick walk to restaurants, coffee shops and high end shopping. I was only in San Francisco for a few days, so I was grateful that the hotel is so conveniently located. It’s also an easy Uber or Lyft to see the Painted Ladies, the Golden Gate Bridge and the Palace of Fine Arts.

I think Vietnamese food in San Francisco is so much better than it is NYC. So, naturally, the first thing I did after checking was walk to Miss Saigon for a vermicelli bowl.

The Rooms

Room with a view anyone? Many of the rooms at the Park Central San Francisco have unbelievable views of the city. I was spending so much time looking at the view outside the massive window in my room, so I eventually made a makeshift bed on the floor so I could relax and enjoy it!

My King room was spacious, spotlessly clean, had cozy robes (which I wore pretty much every minute I was in the room) and a super comfy bed. I *may* have taken some extra naps during my stay, just to take full advantage of that bed!

Other Amenities

My second favorite part of the hotel, after the floor to ceiling windows in my room, was the breakfast. When I’m traveling, I always look forward to hotel breakfasts and the hotel’s MaSo restaurant completely delivered. It has a big variety of hot and cold breakfast items, juices, coffee, you name it. A buffet breakfast at the hotel starts at $25 and it’s DEFINITELY worth it. There are basically endless croissants, eggs and bacon. Heaven!

I didn’t have time to enjoy any other meals at MaSo, but if they are anything like the breakfasts, then Count. Me. In.

If wine o’clock is more your thing, the hotel hosts a nightly complimentary wine tasting from 5:00 to 6:00 pm.

The hotel also has a gym that’s open 24 hours a day. But let’s get real – I got my workouts from walking San Francisco’s famous hills! So, I didn’t bother to hit the hotel gym.

There are also 18 event rooms that can host events of up to 1200 people. If I ever make 1200 friends, maybe I’ll be able to convince the hotel to host my birthday party. 😁

The Park Central SF is also pet friendly! My husband and I are planning to get a furry friend later this year. So, next time we come to SF we can bring him or her with us.

All in all, if you’re looking for where to stay in downtown SF, the Park Central San Francisco is a great choice. Its central location can’t be beat if you’re looking for a jumping off point to explore San Francisco. And the floor to ceiling windows and views are just stunning.
