Dress Shopping at David’s Bridal

Note: This post was written in partnership with David’s Bridal. As always, all opinions are my own.

Is anyone else finding that wedding season starts earlier and earlier each year? I’ll be a guest at multiple weddings this year, including a winter wedding. I really want to look and feel glam but I also want to find dress options that fit my budget. That’s why I booked an appointment at my nearest David’s Bridal.

Yes, THAT David’s Bridal. The store that’s known for selling beautiful wedding dresses at wallet-friendly prices. Did you know that David’s Bridal sells more than wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses?  I didn’t, until recently. But David’s Bridal is a great place to shop if you’re a wedding guest, or if you’re attending any other special event this year.

Although you don’t need an appointment to shop at David’s Bridal, I highly recommend booking one so that you can get the full shopping experience. When I arrived at David’s Bridal for my appointment, I spent a little bit of time chatting with my stylist about the wedding I’m attending this winter. I also explained the type of dress I was looking for – a long gown with embellishment or sparkle and “wow” factor.

My stylist then showed me around the store and gave me some space to choose my favorites. That’s exactly the type of attention I like when I’m shopping – I had a helpful point person to suggest dress options, but I also had enough time and room to walk around the store on my own.

I started off by trying on this floral embroidered velvet gown and was completely blown away by the quality for the price! With the ornate floral embroidery, gold accents, buttery velvet and thigh-high slit, this dress is absolutely perfect for a formal winter wedding. (P.S. the velvet has some stretch to it, so I won’t have to skip dessert.)

Next, I tried on this ruched sequin dress, which made me feel equally as glamorous. This dress is perfect for the black-tie weddings that I often attend in NYC. I love the iridescent look of the dress, which is multi-color and multi-dimensional.  Plus, the ruching makes the dress really flattering. As a bonus, it comes with a matching bow tie and pocket-square for your date. How cute is that?

I love the simplicity of the back of the dress, which is unexpected since the fabric is so sparkly.

After trying on two sleek and slinky dresses, I decided to mix it up with a grecian inspired silver dress. The rows of crystal on the waistline of this one really make this dress stand out. And while the first two dresses are definitely winter looks, this grecian gown can definitely transition into spring and summer.

David’s Bridal is built on the ideal that every woman deserves to have the dress of her dreams regardless of her style, size, or budget. And that’s exactly how I felt after visiting the store. There were so many beautiful options to choose from, with lots of sizes in stock, and I was continuously surprised by how affordable the dresses are. Especially since so many of them have sequins, beading and other embellishment!

Overall, I loved all the dresses I tried on, and it was really hard to choose a favorite. I’m leaning towards the first one with the floral embroidery. Not only is it perfect for a New York City winter wedding, but the embroidery would be perfect for a formal event in Italy or Spain (in case anyone wants to invite me to a destination wedding this year, hint hint).

Which dress was your favorite? Let me know in the comments below and help me choose! I have a few more weeks to decide.

    1. I think that one’s my favorite too! I am just in love with the details and haven’t seen anything like it before!

  1. All the gowns are gorgeous, but that third dress with the Sparkly empire waistline is stylish & looks sophisticated— I also think it would be FuN to wear!✨

  2. In my opinion the last dress is more of an older woman style….in my opinion! Now the first & 2nd dress is more in your age group. My preference is dress #2, looks great on you. I do love the top of dress #1, however, the split took away from the beauty of the dress. in my opinion the split is too high. I don’t think you can go wrong with either of the first 2 dresses. Blessings!;

    1. The first two are my favorites too. I’m leaning towards the first one, although I love the sparkle and color of the second one. It’s so hard to choose!
