Kosan Go Travel Dress: A Travel Girl Must Have

Note: This post was sponsored by Kosan but all opinions are my own.

As a travel blogger, I’m always balancing wanting to look chic when I travel with wanting clothes I can, well, actually travel in. Enter the Kosan Go Travel Dress. Kosan sent me a Go Travel Dress to style and wear during my recent trips to Mexico and Arizona.  A UV protected, breathable, lightweight, wrinkle-resistant, anti-odor and convertible dress? That actually looked cute? I was intrigued. After checking out the Kickstarter page for the Kosan Go Travel Dress, which has over 5500 backers to date, I was even more intrigued.

I chose the Kosan Go Travel Dress in the red tropical floral print because I tend to wear warm and bright colors.  I love travel photos where the subject (in this case, me!) is wearing a pop of color that contrasts against their backdrop. The Go Travel Dress also comes in mineral green, lavender fog, midnight blue and vintage black.

Flattering from the back and the front!

My first impression of the Go Travel Dress was that it is actually flattering. I tend to have trouble pulling off wrap dresses. I know they are supposed to be universally wearable, but they usually make my waist look really short or my top half look really out of proportion to the rest of my body. Or both. But the Kosan Go Travel Dress actually emphasizes my body’s good parts (for me, that’s my waist), without being too low cut or too tight and restricting.

The shorter length option

My favorite feature about the Kosan Go Travel Dress is the adjustable hem, which lets you wear the dress at two different lengths. This would have been a handy feature for my past trips to Thailand and Turkey. In both places, I visited spots in the same day that had dramatically different dress codes. So, either I was sweltering while heading to the beach, or having to borrow sarongs or scarves to cover up enough to meet the dress code at temples.

From a style perspective, the adjustable hem also gives you some variety in your travel wardrobe. On my next trip with the Kosan Go Travel Dress, I’m going to style it with the shorter hem, topped with a chunky knit sweater to make it look more like a skirt.  The dress also has a cut out detail in the back, which is both stylish and helps the dress breathe.

Another great feature is that the Kosan Go Travel Dress is wrinkle resistant.  For trips where I can’t bring a travel steamer, it’s reassuring to know that I will have at least one dress that I can wear right out of my suitcase!

What? This dress has POCKETS?

The Kosan Go Travel Dress also has 4 hidden pockets for your phone, cash, credit cards, sunglasses and lip balm.

All in all, this is a dress I can see myself wearing over and over again.Yes, it’s practical. But it’s also stylish enough to wear out to dinner in Paris, to a cocktail bar in NYC or to a retro diner in Palm Springs.

If you have any travel style tips, I would love to hear them!
