Roaring 20’s Wine Tasting with Hostess with the Mostess Printables

Note: This post is sponsored by Hostess with the Mostess. However, as always, all opinions are my own.

It’s been a while since I’ve entertained (for obvious reasons). But with things opening up and feeling more hopeful, I decided to host a little Roaring 2020s themed wine tasting. Decorating and entertaining don’t come naturally to me, so to host my Roaring 2020’s wine tasting, I relied on Hostess with the Mostess printables to make the get-together feel more special.

Using Hostess with the Mostess printables made it so easy to create a consistent theme for my Roaring 2020s wine tasting. I didn’t want to stress about decorating, or spending hours on my laptop trying to design invitations, menus, etc. from scratch. Especially since it was the first time I had entertained in over a year and it was a small get-together.

If you’re thinking about entertaining guests soon, keep reading for how to host a Roaring 2020s wine tasting like I did using Hostess with the Mostess printables.

The Theme: Roaring 2020s Wine Tasting

I’ve always been fascinated with the 1920s – the clothes, the makeup, the fashion and the revelry and fun. I know most of us have been cooped up at home for a long time, and I think we’re about to head into the next Roaring 20s, but this time it will be the Roaring 2020s.

I thought this would a really fun and timely theme for my at-home wine tasting party. Plus, the Wine & Chalk party theme on the Hostess with the Mostess website was absolutely perfect for it.

The Process Using Hostess with the Mostess Printables

I hopped on the Hostess with the Mostess website and selected the Wine & Chalk party theme. It was so quick and easy to customize the invitations and to print out cute wine labels, drink flags and more in my home office.

I grabbed some scissors and some tape and had a consistent and stylish party theme in no time. I also used other items I found around the house to finish up the decor, like metal toothpicks, a picture frame, coasters, flowers from our garden and vases we already owned.

The Invitations

Since this was a small get-together in our Brooklyn backyard, I didn’t want to bother with snail mail. Instead, I used the Hostess with the Mostess website to make digital invitations that I sent to everyone by text message. It only took me a couple of minutes to customize the invitations.

The Menu

Since it’s been so long since I last entertained, I decided to keep things simple. I put together a cheese platter with some aged cheddar, salty sea feta, flatbread crackers and some dried fruit and nuts.

And let’s be honest – I knew my friends were really coming over for the wine. I set out a bottle of bubbly, a bottle of Pinot Noir and a bottle of Malbec, all of which I customized with labels that matched my party theme from Hostess with the Mostess.

And of course, I had extra wine, cheese and snacks in the kitchen just in case I needed to replenish anything.

The Decor Using Hostess with the Mostess Printables

I hosted my Roaring 2020s wine tasting in my Brooklyn backyard. Our backyard was my husband’s 2020 DIY project, and he has made it into such a charming and welcoming space with string flights, flowers and more.

I grabbed our trusty – if a little bit rickety – wooden table and chairs out of winter storage. Since we weren’t having a sit down meal, I used the table as a buffet.

I printed out a wine themed banner from the Hostess with the Mostess website, and strung them across the table using silver string and mini clothespins.

I also used a picture frame I already own to frame a fun “There’s Always Time for a Glass of Wine” sign and covered the wine bottles with labels also from Hostess with the Mostess. I also printed out drink flags and labels for the cheeseboard that matched my party theme.

Roaring 2020s Wine Tasting: What I Wore

The original Roaring 20s were all about sparkly dresses, headbands, and long strings of pearls. It’s been a while since I shopped for anything other than loungewear, so I raided my closet and found a flouncy silver dress from a few years ago that I thought would be perfect for my Roaring 2020s theme.

I also dug up a pearl encrusted headband, and two string of pearls to give my outfit a bit of a modern flapper vibe.

Wrap Up + My Next Party Theme

All in all, my Roaring 2020s wine tasting was a big success. It was so nice to have a couple of friends over for an evening with me and my husband. And it felt SO good (and normal!) to put on something other than loungewear for a night.

I’m glad I used Hostess with the Mostess printables for this get-together. It was quick and easy to pull together an event with a consistent theme, without spending a ton of money or wasting hours trying to create decorations on my own. Graphic design isn’t my strong point and I usually just end up feeling defeated and frustrated when I try to create things from scratch.

I’ll definitely use Hostess with the Mostess printables again next time I entertain. I’m eyeing the Tropical Bash theme for a summer tiki party, and since I love Halloween, I also can’t wait to use the Hey, Boo! theme for my next Halloween party.

Are you a fan of entertaining? Have you ever used printables, like Hostess with the Mostess printables, to make your party planning easier? Let me know in the comments!
